As a mission-led company and pioneer in responsible mobility, Expanscience has embarked on transforming its vehicle fleet with a clear objective: reducing its carbon footprint while enhancing the daily lives of its employees. This ambitious project is being carried out methodically—with the support of Chargemap Business.
Infusing meaning into the electric transition
A committed player in health and well-being, notably recognized for its Mustela brand in dermo-cosmetics, Expanscience is no newcomer to sustainable development. Certified as a B Corp since 2018 and a mission-led company since 2021, it has set stringent environmental goals, particularly through the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
“We place great importance on our overall environmental impact. Electric mobility is one of the levers in our decarbonization roadmap.”
— Annalisa Di Girolamo, Head of General Services & Disability Advisor
A top-down initiative
At Expanscience, fleet electrification is not merely a technical upgrade. It's a strategic direction championed by top management, aiming to engage all teams in a transformative dynamic.
Currently, 43 electric vehicles are already operating on French roads, representing nearly 30% of the fleet in France, with a target of 70% by 2030.
Supporting drivers at every step
To involve employees, Expanscience implemented a voluntary and structured approach, including meetings to support changes in practices. Concurrently, a questionnaire helped identify eligible and willing drivers, considering their housing types and usage patterns.
“We progressed step by step, relying on the questionnaire responses. This facilitated gradual yet solid adoption.”
— Annalisa Di Girolamo
Each electric vehicle driver received a home charging station, funded by the company. Technical visits conducted by our partner, ChargeGuru, helped overcome logistical barriers. The result: a seamless project with no operational disruptions.
Establishing success conditions
To ensure reliable and accessible charging:
- The Expanscience production and R&D site in Épernon was equipped with 4 dual charging stations, totaling 8 charging points.
- At home, each driver is provided with an individual charging station.
- An internal WhatsApp group was created to share tips, questions, and feedback.
- Regular meetings bring together drivers, managers, and project partners.
Why Chargemap Business?
During the selection phase, Expanscience sought a partner capable of meeting two key requirements: simplicity for drivers and precision for managers. Chargemap Business quickly stood out.
It was the only one offering access to superchargers. Moreover, the application is comprehensive and intuitive. To date, I have received no negative feedback.

Looking ahead
Expanscience's electrification journey doesn't stop here. The goal is clear: achieve 70% electric vehicles in the fleet by 2030 through a strategy of gradual renewal.
The company continues to closely monitor developments in the electric vehicle market, paying particular attention to autonomy, comfort, and design—decisive criteria for maintaining an attractive vehicle offering for employees.
Simultaneously, we remain vigilant about essential criteria such as vehicle weight, energy consumption, and safety.
“We want to encourage the switch to electric. To do so, we stay attentive to new developments and regularly update our catalog.”
— Annalisa Di Girolamo
This approach of continuity and continuous improvement enables Expanscience to embed its transition over the long term, always keeping people and usage at the heart of decisions.
